Wildflower Session Vibes: Family, Pups, and a Lots of Personality
Wildflower photos are so vibrant and full of life—and this session felt especially meaningful.
My mom wanted some updated photos as it’s not only her birthday, but also her anniversary month. So I took these two (plus one very handsome pup and one very sassy one) out to the wildflowers just outside Murfreesboro, TN for a session that celebrated all of it.
We did the whole thing in just under an hour—and honestly? I’m proud. Not just of the photos, but of what it took to get them.
I love photos—taking them, being in them, all of it. It’s how I connect with people, notice the little things, and press pause on moments I want to remember. But this session felt different… because I wasn’t just taking the photos—I was setting up the shots and jumping into them.
Instead of being fully behind the lens, I was guiding my husband, Adam (who’s not a photographer, but definitely a trooper), checking light, adjusting settings, setting up the tripod for group shots, and wrangling two very sassy dogs.
It was a bit of a whirlwind behind the scenes—and that’s exactly why I approach client sessions differently.
I’ve learned how to carry calm in the middle of it. That’s the energy I bring to every session. When I’m photographing your family, you don’t have to worry about light, angles, or those awkward what-do-we-do-with-our-hands moments. I guide you through every step, so you can relax and actually enjoy it—whether we’re working with toddlers, teens, or fur babies.
We got sweet photos of my mom and stepdad together, some moments with just the two of us, a few full-family shots—and plenty of frames starring Lucy and Finley. (He’s Lucy’s brother—we got them as pups together. I know… we’re adorable 😂 And yes, he’s just as high-maintenance as she is 😅)
The evening was mostly cloudy, but the sun broke through right at the end—just enough for a soft golden glow that made those wildflowers pop. It meant so much to not only capture photos of my mom and her husband, but of us too—with our fur babies right in the middle.
If you're in Middle Tennessee and thinking, “We should really get some family photos soon…”—this is your sign. Whether things feel a little wild or wonderfully calm, it’s always a good time to capture the season you’re in.
I’m a Murfreesboro-based photographer who loves helping families press pause and get in the frame—dogs, chaos, and all.
Photos with dogs, chaos, and real life? That’s kind of my thing. Let’s make it happen.
