Milestones Matter
When a friend asked if I’d take kindergarten graduation photos of her daughter and her two besties in their tiny caps and gowns, I said yes—mostly because I can't resist a milestone like this (especially one this cute). Even though I’m a Murfreesboro photographer, I made the drive to Fayetteville, TN for this session—and I’m so glad I did.
These three were full of personality, silliness, and just enough chaos to remind me why this age is such a treasure. Zero pretense—just pure joy and friendship. Their giggles, hugs, and matching mini-caps made it clear: this wasn’t just a quick photo op. It was a memory frozen in time. A cap and gown milestone photo session right on the edge of growing up, but still totally carefree.
Also not pictured? The chickens who fully believed they were invited. (They were not.)
One family cat did make the final gallery—Tuffy, the sweetest little photo-bomber.
These children’s milestone sessions matter. It was fun, chaotic, and full of joy I’d never want forgotten. I’m so glad I said yes.
Because years from now, they won’t remember posing. They’ll remember how it felt: the freedom of being five (or maybe six), and fully themselves.
And I got to bottle up just a little piece of that—for them, and for their moms who already know how fast it all goes.
If you’ve got a kindergarten graduate—or any milestone that deserves to be remembered—I’d love to help you freeze the feeling. Whether you're in Fayetteville, Murfreesboro, or nearby, let’s capture the giggles, hugs, and photo-bombing cats while they’re still little.
