A Return to the Farm at Spring Valley | Heather & Davis’ Maternity Session

Returning to a place that already holds part of a couple’s story feels sacred in its own way.
For Heather and Davis, The Farm at Spring Valley near Murfreesboro, TN, isn’t just a pretty venue—it’s where they promised forever. And this fall, we came back not for a wedding, but to celebrate the quiet, beautiful beginning of their next chapter: becoming parents.

Maternity sessions like this one—full of meaning and rooted in a place that matters—remind me why I love documenting this season so much. When a location carries that kind of history, the whole experience shifts. We weren’t just finding good light—we were moving through places already filled with meaning. It made the evening feel rooted, unhurried, and full of connection.

The fall leaves were showing off, the pond was calm and glowing, and we had the prettiest light over the water. At one point we joked about using the canoe, and then quickly agreed: maybe not this time.

Heather wore a delicate bracelet with a tiny letter “A”—Alli’s birthstone nestled beside it. It doubles as a nursing bracelet, but it felt like more than that. It was a quiet symbol of the love already growing for this baby girl. Those little nods always get me.

Being in small group with Heather and Davis makes this season feel extra special. Getting to walk with them through everyday life—and now watch them step into parenthood—is something I’m genuinely grateful for. They’re steady, kind, and already such a great team. And more than anything, their love for the Lord shows up in how they love each other and the people around them.

And I have to say—the owners at The Farm at Spring Valley are some of the kindest people. You can tell how much they care about their couples, and they made it so easy for us to be there again. We had such a great experience, and the time honestly flew by.

Baby Alli is already so loved. Photographing this chapter for them—right where their story started—felt like documenting the sweetest full-circle moment before everything changes.
