A Columbia, Tennessee Session with the Sweetest Trio
Ashley, Bradley, and their daughter Aubrey showed up with the kind of warmth that makes you feel like you’ve known them forever. Within minutes, we were swapping stories, laughing between shots, and settling into the kind of rhythm that makes a session feel easy.
Early on, we realized something pretty fun—Bradley’s first name is actually Adam, which means they’re another Adam & Ashley couple… just like us.! My husband Adam came along to help with behind-the-scenes video (which I cannot wait to share), and he and Bradley immediately fell into all the classic guy conversations while we got started.
We kicked things off in Downtown Columbia, TN wandering around the square and soaking in all the classic charm. And of course, we had to stop by the huge Christmas tree they put up every year. I have no idea how tall it actually is, but it’s massive—and we definitely grabbed the classic big-tree shot that just feels perfectly “Columbia at Christmastime.” It added such a festive touch to the first part of their gallery.
Then we made our way to The Yard at Row & Co. for a completely different feel—rich greens, open space, and a peaceful backdrop that made everything look cozy and calm. Their gallery has this beautiful mix of lively downtown moments and relaxed tree-farm frames, and it fits them so well.
While we were there, we also took a few minutes to grab some simple, clean headshots of both Ashley and Bradley. Truly—no matter what you do for work, it’s always great to have a fresh headshot on hand, and family sessions like this are the easiest opportunity to sneak a few in.
And the couple photos? Oh my goodness… some of my favorites ever. There was such an ease and sweetness between them, and those frames ended up being some of my personal favorites to date.
They brought two outfits—one dressy, one casual—and it worked so well with the change in scenery. If you’ve ever wondered whether an outfit change works in an hour-long session… it absolutely does.
And sweet Aubrey? A total delight. Curious, joyful, and full of personality in every single frame. Her little bow-back dress was the cutest touch, but honestly, it was the way this family moved together—with ease, laughter, and connection—that made the photos feel so true to them.
After we wrapped, we stopped into Bradley Mountain Coffee to warm up. The coffee was perfect, the space was beautiful, and it’s such a great spot if you ever need a holiday gifts, especially for a guy in your life.
It was a chilly morning, but you’d never know it from their photos. The light showed up, their connection showed up, and we left feeling like old friends. These are the kinds of moments that remind me why I love being a family photographer — not just for the beautiful locations, but for families like this who bring so much heart to their session.
If you’re dreaming of family photos that feel natural, meaningful, and full of the good stuff—connection, laughter, and the real moments in between—I’d love to help you create that. Whether you love a charming downtown spot, a peaceful tree farm, or something completely your own, let’s plan a session that reflects your story.
